General Admission Information
As a member of the award winning Instrumental Music program at JC ARTS you will learn advanced performing skills, improve your music reading ability and develop performing knowledge that will prepare you for entrance to colleges and universities as a Music major. Many of our graduates receive partial or full scholarship to further their careers as performers, educators, music technicians and business executives.
Interview and audition dates for the 2016-2017 school year will be posted when available. Only High School students that are residents of Jersey City, NJ are eligible to interview and audition for JC ARTS.

Brass Audition Information
Requirements
Please bring your own instrument, mouthpiece, music and supplies to play the audition.
- Play 3 major scales, ascending and descending.
- Prepare 2 selections from your current band method book or your band literature that best shows your playing level.
- Sight read a selection of music supplied at your audition.
- Complete an interview with the Instrumental Music staff.

Woodwinds Audition Information

- 9-stroke roll
- Single Paradiddle
- Flam

- Sight read a selection of music supplied at your audition.
- Complete an interview with the Instrumental Music staff.
